Part 2 of Building a Loafing Shed

I have to catch up on the building process of the loafing shed.
Yesterday, we finally got the roof on and made a doorway for the milk barn.

In November we added 4 Nubian does to our herd.  Here are pics of them and some of our other goats.

Guinea Hogs

In October, we traded a stud fee from our Lamancha buck for two Guinea Hogs.  We've had them for about 2 1/2 months, and they've grown a LOT!  We made sure that we got them unrelated, so that way, we can have piglets in mid-summer.

Part 1 of building a Loafing Shed

Sorry for not posting more often...it's been pretty busy :)
Anyway, what we've been doing is building a 12 x 16 loafing shed right beside of the milk barn, so that this winter we can put the momma's in that are due (which is about 15) so that the babies will be warm when they're born.
So the first step is leveling out the dirt so that the rain water won't run under and make it all soggy in there.  Thanks to my dad we got all of the leveling done in one day ;)  (see pics below)

Oh yes, and remove any stumps or rocks that are in the way.

The gray poles that are in the ground are going to be the edge of the loafing shed.
And yesterday we dug three holes for the posts, YAY!
I'll try to post more updates on it
